Maine Two Footers / Monson Railroad / Locomotives / No.4

Monson Railroad No.4

Monson loco No.4

The only reason Monson No.4 has a number on its cab side is because the photographer cut one out of white paper and stuck it on there with pin grease - for identification purposes.
He hadn't discovered at the time that No.4 had two stirrups in its cab steps and
No.3 had only one.

Built: 1918
Cylinders: 10" bore x 14" stroke
Driving wheels: 32" dia.
Total weight: 36000 lbs.
